I was first introduced to stop-motion with my favorite childhood show, Pingu. My love of animation took me to Parsons the New School where I pursued a BFA in Illustration and a minor in Film Production. I began my career in 2D animation and then moved into the world of 3D where I fell in love with stop-motion and created my first short film “Bare King”. Soon after, I completed “Birthday Boy” and "Elephant in Ivory", each film I wrote, directed and built the puppets and sets by hand. I was awarded the 2018 Windgate Fellowship that allowed me to travel to workshops and build upon my fabrication skills.
By spending a lot of time hand sculpting and carving my puppets and sets, when it comes time to animate them I feel I have developed a strong connection with my characters and their stories that I am excited to share with my audience.
